DC Community Energizer
December 20-23, 2020
Join us for our first-ever DC Community Energizer, a three-day, part-time learning opportunity centered around tzedakah for you and your family!
This is a program designed for you to fit into your already busy and overwhelmed lives; invest in yourself for a few hours each day through short bursts of learning. By engaging in song, text study, discussion, and havruta learning, you’ll feel spiritually supported, reenergized, and more deeply connected to your community.
Together we’ll dive into the ethics around charity—how often, when, and why we give. Start your mornings with nigunim over coffee with Rabbi Aviva Richman, learn from Rabbi Elie Kaunfer about how your Judaism is intertwined with giving, discuss what obligations we have to those in our community with Rabbi Avi Strausberg, and consider the dilemmas of tzedakah with Rabbi Shai Held.
Parents, we’re grateful to be able to offer kid’s programming, geared toward kids 15 and under! Kids ages 10+ are invited to jump into havruta with their parents during the daily lunch shiur; kids aged 7-10 and 11-15 will be able to join classes for their age group; and young ones will explore kid-friendly study guides around giving designed to facilitate parent-child learning.
