On 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2, 12/10, 12/16, 7:00 to 9:00 pm

At GatherDC (1817 M St NW)
In this six-session course with R. Avi Strauserg, we'll do a deep-dive into the Gemara around teshuvah, atonement, and what it means to be forgiven. This will be a skill-based class designed to teach how to learn Gemara and to familiarize participants with key phrases and argumentative styles of the Talmud. The first half will be havruta-based and the second half will be all together. Participants should be able to read Hebrew with an understanding of a few key roots and words. This class is appropriate both for newcomers to Talmud as well as people with a bit of background that want to focus in on the nuts and bolts of a sugya. Please register in advance and note that registration will be capped at 16 participants.
Note: Participants should purchase a Frank Dictionary, and bring either a hard copy of a Jastrow or a device to access it online.
