In collaboration with Hillel International, Hadar is holding a four-day Summer Institute geared toward Hillel professionals! The seminar, from June 21-25, 2015 is intended to draw an audience from a variety of backgrounds looking to spend time deepening their connection to Jewish learning around relevant and substantive issues. This summer we will focus on broad themes from the Jewish Holidays, including forgiveness, change, holiness, authority, and renewal.
The goal of our learning together is threefold:
- To encounter each other through deep text learning
- To take back to campus "pocket Torah" that will be useful in real-life discussions with students
- To broaden our own knowledge and understanding of Jewish learning.
Our overarching objective is that people working in Hillel positions feel confident in speaking with students about their Jewish journeys and competent in creating learning environments conducive to these types of conversations. Participants should expect a deep and meaningful approach to text catered to various learning levels and styles. We will offer a wide range of classes so every student feels comfortable learning at his/her level.
