As communal davening spaces across the country are put on pause, we encounter the tremendous opportunity of time to hone and elevate our skills as leaders while we wait to return to praying together once more. In this 8-week program, a select group of talented teen shelichei tzibbur (prayer leaders) will gather virtually with the Rising Song Institute’s Deborah Sacks Mintz to build out their toolkits of leadership skills for the future. Text study, melody sharing, and training in technical skills will comprise this unique cohort-based fellowship.
Participation Cost: $250
Supplies Fee: Subscription to Joey Weisenberg's supplemental video library at $18 per month for the two months of the program.
Is it for me?
The Hadar Teen Davening Fellowship is designed for students who have completed at least one year of high school (including graduating seniors) and who have some experience leading communal prayer in any context, and are excited about pushing their leadership abilities, gaining new skills, expanding their creativity, and immersing in learning and song with other teens who share that interest. If that describes you, we welcome you to apply!
When Is it?
The program will run weekly for 1.5-2 hours through July and August, at a time and day determined by the cohort's availability.
What is the format?
The program will begin with a kickoff seminar with the full cohort. We will then split up into smaller cohorts of 4-6 for the remainder of the program, coming back together at the conclusion of the program once more for a full-group closing seminar. The weekly sessions with your small cohort will consist of masterclass-style presentations, focused skill work, and collaborative study. There will be short assignments each week, utilizing Joey Weisenberg's new video series as a supplementary resource.
How much does it cost?
The program costs $250 per teen. There is an additional fee of $18 a month to subscribe to Joey Weisenberg's video series for the duration of the two month program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to [email protected] if finances are an obstacle to participation.
