Two Models of Marriage and Partnership. Parashat Bereishit opens with two different descriptions of creation, descriptions that assume corollary models of partnership. The Rabbinic law seems to favor only one of these models, but a careful reading of the opening sugyot of Talmud Kiddushin reveals the other's pushback.
