Have We Found Peace?

Allowing Minor Fast Days to Turn Us Toward the Present
How can we look at a world that is broken, and imagine that it won’t always be this way? The first step is to acknowledge the broken, the hard, the bad. If we skip this step, we don’t have hope; we have denial. The necessary first step is seeing the world for what it is, and making space to cry for what is broken. For this, our tradition has offered us days of fasting. (5783)
