Overview | Frequently Asked Questions | Apply
Our funded long-term fellowships are an opportunity to be an anchoring presence and driving force for our egalitarian mekom Torah in North America with a cohort of passionate peers.
Core Components of being a Long Term Fellow at Yeshivat Hadar
והגית בו יומם ולילה
The fellowship is centered around intensive beit midrash learning of Jewish texts in original language in the mornings, afternoons and some evenings, including significant open learning blocks for fellows to pursue independent learning projects.
תפלה בצבור
Fellows ground our daily minyan, and play a leadership role in leading tefillah, reading Torah, organizing and inviting others to minyan.
חסד
The fellowship is animated by active pursuit of hesed, through regular visits to the elderly in a local residential care home, and contributing to a variety of other communal needs.
דבוק חברים
A core part of the experience includes building a strong sense of cohort and community through shared meals, sihot, and shabbatot together.
כלל ישראל
Located in the middle of New York City, the fellowship is an opportunity to be at the hub of our public programs, including evening lectures and yemei iyyun.
In recognition of this full time commitment, long term fellows for 2020-21 will be awarded a living stipend of $14,000 for October 12 - May 13.
Before launching into this significant commitment, applicants to the year fellowship have generally had meaningful investment in Hadar’s programs or vision already (i.e. the winter learning seminar or summer beit midrash, or other significant participation in an environment that shares the values of observance and egalitarianism).
